Shackleton Triumphs at Sports Day!

Well done to ALL of our students who took part, cheered everybody on and supported each other at Sports Day. The morning saw the field events taking place with records in Y9 Long Jump and Y10/Y11 Javelin being broken. Other popular events included the welly throw, netball shoot out, and big ball throw.
Our year 7 students, experiencing a FICS Sports Day for the first time, were amazing! They got involved in everything, put their all in, and impressed everybody with their participation and enthusiasm.
When it came to the 1500m, almost the whole school got involved and took part to win points for their house.
The energy continued to build throughout the afternoon as the track events took place and then culminated in a staff vs student relay and a staff vs parent tug ‘o’ war! Thank you to our willing parents who took part and helped create that excitement for the school community.
The House standings changed as the events continued and students pushed for every single point! A close finish saw Ross in 3rd with Shackleton narrowly beating Fitzroy into first place. Well done to Shackleton House!
Thank you to students, staff and parents for an incredible day!
