Vision and Values
Our aim at FICS is that all our students are supported to reach their potential and leave as happy, curious and well-rounded individuals with the knowledge, skills and qualifications they need for the next stage in their lives. Our students are at the centre of all that we do as a school. To this end FICS provides opportunities for student to learn about our unique environment and history in the Falkland Islands and actively engage with our community in meaningful ways. We also prepare our students for overseas study or work by supporting them to develop our school values of Resilience, Respect, and Curiosity.
Our aim is for all FICS students to:
- Develop intellectual curiosity to find their passions and pursue their interest outside the classroom and beyond the curriculum.
- Develop resilience by being reflective, capable of self-criticism and open to improvement.
- Be respectful of others, taking responsibility for their actions and the consequences that accompany them.
FICS students should have high expectations for themselves and be grateful for the opportunities that exist for them. With the opportunity for study overseas and fully funded further education, FICS students are in a privileged position. We are preparing students to study overseas and have respect for the opinions and beliefs of others; to be culturally humble and interested in the lives of others; and to be able to grow and develop through experience. FICS students are representatives of our island and school and should appreciate the obligations to represent and serve this community.
