Welcome
Our school vision outlines our commitment to continually working to improve outcomes for every child. The outcomes we seek are not just academic achievements, but the embodiment of our school values. We want our students to leave FICS as resilient, respectful young people, with the curiosity to find their passions and go out into the world, contributing positively to their community.
We teach students about kindness and tolerance in our diverse and inclusive school. With a wide and varied curriculum, students can access personalised pathways for academic teaching as well as personal development. Teaching pro-social behaviours such as equity and responsibility are a core part of our responsibility to the community we serve.
Opportunities for experiences outside the classroom are vast. Being the only secondary school in the Falkland Islands, we are well supported by the wider community to offer a range of opportunities to our young people. Our students are adaptable and creative; they are able to access high quality work experience and benefit from the expertise of professionals across industries.
With knowledgeable and highly qualified teachers and support staff, students are supported to achieve the grades they are capable of. This enables our students to choose from multiple options at the end of year 11. Being a small school, we know each student personally, and our pastoral team is able to provide a high level of individual support.
I look forward to continuing to support the development of FICS, and sharing the success of our students with members of our community over the course of the year.
